Weekend Trips

Swamp Base is now offering weekend paddling trips! These trips are designed to provide Scouts with an opportunity to experience the swamp during the fall, winter, and springtime, when water levels are different, the leaves are changing colors, temperatures are cooler, or when the nesting bird populations are at their peak.

Based on the nature of the activity, participation is limited to Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews. Groups must consist of 8 to 22 people (please contact us if your group is larger or smaller) and reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Minimum age for Scouts is 11 years old.

Every trip is rated (Level 1 = easy, Level 2 = intermediate, and Level 3 = difficult), so that Scouts can pick the best paddling experience for their group. Trips are rated based on a number of factors, including:

  • Paddling distance
